Sheffield, Ala.− Monday, August 30, 2021 – Bank Independent was recently recognized by Mastercard as the winner of the “Doing Well by Doing Good” 2021 award. This national award is conferred annually to one financial institution deemed best for their use of assets in community service or charitable contributions.

Bank Independent was nominated for their concerted community engagement efforts tied to their Helping Hands Initiative comprised of four distinct annual drives. Shelter Share collects donations and raises awareness for local animal shelters. Food Share assists local food banks and organizations that provide outreach to local families in need. School Share collects much needed supplies for local students, particularly in the foster care system. Toy Share reaches children and families in need as we lead into the Holiday season.

“We are honored to be recognized by Mastercard as the winner of the “Doing Well by Doing Good” award,” said Rick Wardlaw, CEO of Bank Independent. “We appreciate the value and support of the Mastercard program which allows Bank Independent create a positive brand impression with our customers, and most importantly, to make a powerful impact through our Helping Hands drives.”
