Sheffield, Ala. – Monday, March 07, 2022 – Bank Independent is pleased to announce the promotion of DeMarco McClain to the position of City President of Huntsville. In this new role, McClain will leverage relationships across the organization to effectively lead efforts in the city market.
McClain joined the Bank in 2015 as Vice President Sales Officer. He most recently served as Senior Vice President in Madison County. He is currently enrolled in the Graduate School of Banking at LSU and serves as a class officer for the Class of 2023. McClain brings over 20 years of banking experience with an emphasis in both consumer and commercial lending and commercial loan underwriting.
“I am very excited about my new role and my ability to continue to contribute to growing the Bank Independent footprint in North Alabama.” Reflects McClain. “Huntsville is a very special place and I’m glad to play a very small part of its growth.”
Deeply involved in Bank Independent’s extensive community and economic development efforts, McClain is also an advocate of the Bank’s Helping Hands initiatives which provide focused support to the community. He graduated from the 2012 Leadership Greater Huntsville Connect Class 14 and remains an active volunteer for Leadership Greater Huntsville.
In his personal time, McClain is very active in the Huntsville community and currently serves on the City’s Public Building Authority and Von Braun Centers Board of Controls. He also volunteers with the Christian Women’s Job Corp Madison County, the Village of Promise and youth sports with the Huntsville International league.

McClain earned a BS in Business Administration from Auburn University Montgomery in 2002 and his MBA from Troy University in 2014. DeMarco McClain and his wife Clarissa reside in Huntsville with their son Dylan.
