Bank Independent Announces Vice President Promotions

Bank Independent is pleased to announce the promotion of five team members to Vice President roles, recognizing their leadership, expertise, and continued contributions to the organization’s growth and service to customers.

“These promotions reflect the depth of talent and leadership we are fortunate to have across Bank Independent,” said Macke Mauldin, CEO of Bank Independent. “Adam, Ann Collins, Selina, Karen, and Angie each bring valuable experience, commitment, and perspective to their areas of the bank. Their leadership helps us continue to serve our customers, support our team members, and move our organization forward.”

Adam Letson has been promoted to Vice President – Technology Solutions. Letson leads the team responsible for helping teams across the bank identify, evaluate, and implement technology solutions that improve processes and better serve customers and team members. His team partners with others across the organization to ensure that technology, both current and new, is effectively utilized to optimize the customer and team member experience.

Ann Collins Mockbee has been promoted to Vice President – Assistant General Counsel. Mockbee brings nearly a decade of experience to her role since joining the organization in September 2017. Her career background spans fiduciary services, client relationship management, and legal expertise, with a strong focus on financial stewardship and thoughtful analysis. Prior to her current role, she spent five years with Trustmark National Bank’s Wealth Management Group as a Personal Trust Relationship Manager. Mockbee holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance with a specialization in accounting from the University of Alabama and earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Mississippi.

Selina Swinea has been promoted to Vice President – Area Sales Leader. Swinea joined Bank Independent in 2005 as a part-time Teller while attending college. She has served in a variety of roles across sales office, operations, and executive support, including Teller, Personal Banker, Sales Manager/Administrative Assistant, and Executive Assistant. Swinea earned her MBA with a concentration in Human Resources Management from the University of North Alabama in spring 2026 and holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in Human Resources from Athens State University. She is also a 2019 graduate of Leadership Shoals.

Karen Tidwell has been promoted to Vice President – Area Sales Leader. Tidwell joined Bank Independent in 2007 and has more than 36 years of banking experience. Her career began as a Teller and has included roles as an Administrative Assistant and, most recently, Sales Manager at the Decatur Downtown sales office. She is a graduate of the Alabama Banking School and serves in an advisory role for Parents and Teachers Together, known as PACT.

Angie Williams has been promoted to Vice President – Applications Services. Williams focuses on enterprise automation and artificial intelligence initiatives that support the bank’s technology strategy. Since joining Bank Independent more than 14 years ago, she has progressed through roles of increasing responsibility across IT and Delivery Channels, including serving as eCommerce Customer Support Manager and later leading digital products, projects, and support efforts
