Hi! My name is Sydney Hudson. I am an intern for the Accounting Department here at Bank Independent this spring semester. I started my career with the bank as a Teller in March of 2022. As a Teller, I was able to become comfortable with the software we use which has undoubtedly helped me throughout my internship.
Open Intern Positions
During lunch with my mentor, we discussed growth opportunities and internship positions that would soon be opening within the bank. When the positions were released, I was excited to learn that the Accounting Department had an internship available starting the next semester.
My excitement stemmed from my job shadow experience with the department back in April, as well as knowing I could utilize the knowledge I had attained while pursuing my Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from UNA.
What advice I would give to future interns?
Throughout these past few weeks, I have learned some of the many procedures that accountants do to ensure the bank and Interstate Billing Service are balanced. When asked what advice I would give to future interns, the best thing to do is to keep an open mind as well as a positive attitude. Greet new challenges with open arms and never be afraid to ask questions.
