Sheffield, Ala. – Wednesday, June 23, 2021 – Bank Independent will launch its eighth annual School Share drive on June 28th to benefit local school children through the “$5 Helps Carry the Cost” campaign. School supplies and donations will be accepted at all locations of Bank Independent, by PayPal and through scheduled collection events until July 16. Bank Independent works with local partner organizations across their seven-county footprint to ensure donations are distributed to area families in need.

Bank Independent Tiger Branch Grand Opening at Deshler High School
Sheffield, Alabama – Monday, September 21, 2020 – Students, staff and faculty were invited to attend the grand opening of the Bank Independent Tiger Branch on the campus of Deshler High School in Tuscumbia, Alabama on Friday, September 18th. This newly created, student-operated bank office is part of a groundbreaking financial literacy partnership between the Tuscumbia Schools System and Bank Independent.
Sheffield, Ala. – Wednesday, March 4, 2020 – The 7th annual Bank Independent Shelter Share drive collected a total of 4,178 items and $1,427.37 in donations. Additionally, the bank donated over $7,000, sponsored 17 pet adoptions and provided 266 volunteer hours directly to animal shelters in northwest Alabama. These numbers reflect an overall financial impact of over $43,200 for our local, community animal shelters.
Bank Independent Collecting Food and Supplies for Local Animal Shelters
